Women are smarter, more complex

Beth on Yellowstone (great character and performance), the barrel racers, the lonely woman on the ranch (played by the fantastic Jen Landon Teeter) are all great female characters who fit into the world of the story in a natural, relaxed way. They are strong and assertive. Not only 'partner…' or T & A. He stepped up his game with the great character Faith Hill, who was forced into "1883" followed by Dame Mirren in the ignition release which was "1923". Now we have Zoe Saldana doing some of the best work of her career.

I definitely buy him being a CIA boss in an open marriage (nice touch). I buy De Oliveira as a broken woman with a burning rage that won’t let go, and thank you, thank you, thank you to the writers/directors/producers for NOT letting her get the best of a soldier man with an extra one…hundred pounds of muscle. Truth first! I think her character is much more interesting if she’s someone who needs to be knocked out cold or just pushed to the ground before she leaves. Now let’s talk Jill Wagner or should I say her hair?

I’m buying it

From schmaltzy Hallmark dreck to super-badass special forces? Special mention: Mrs. Lanier as the obnoxious teenage daughter. I’m looking forward to this loose canon arc as long as they continue to avoid teenage angst clichés. Good actor, could be interesting…
