Batman: Our scars can destroy us even when the physical wounds heal
Synopsis
When a sadistic serial killer begins murdering key political figures in Gotham, Batman is forced to investigate the city’s hidden corruption and question his family’s involvement. Robert Pattinson revealed that he secretly took on the role during the audition. a selfie in a batsuit as a keepsake "in case it doesn’t work out.". When Batman takes his shirt off at the beginning of the movie, he has a large scar on his shoulder. Scar is gone later in the film when he appears shirtless as he files the clues he gathered on the Riddler case.

I love that tone
If you strip away any hype or expectations, saying it’s a good movie is a positive thing. But if you’re hoping for an awesome new iteration of Batman, good means it wasn’t great, let alone awesome. This review is going to be negative, but I loved it. It’s super dark and grounded in reality, even more so than Nolan’s trilogy. And it’s true to the character.
And the Bat suit looks amazing
Zoe Kravitz and Jeffrey Wright are great casting choices. It’s a mostly well made movie and a good addition to the franchise. At the same time, nothing about this movie blew me away. I didn’t connect with the characters, especially the villain. The relationships seem undeveloped and not organic.

I wasn’t nearly as emotionally invested in the story as I should have been. It mostly works at the surface level. If you’re a big Batman fan, I think you’ll really enjoy it. But as a movie, I don’t think it’s firing on all cylinders. The Nolan trilogy still reigns supreme.
